Nearly 95% of in-custody complaints can be handled by our medical providers without the need of hospital emergency department ancillary services. Our medical staff will conduct pre-booking exams to determine if the arrestee can be medically cleared for booking. Officers can now transport arrestees to their local city jail where the entire booking process and medical clearance will take place. If the arrestee requires a higher level of medical care our staff will inform the officer and or watch commander on duty of such a need and direct the person to a local emergency department. This will offset the unnecessary cost and time of transporting the arrestee to a local emergency room. If the arrestee does not meet the release criteria then our medical providers will coordinate with the local emergency department physician of his or her findings and the need for a higher level of medical care. Having our services allows for officers to return to patrol services in a quick and efficient manner. Through our Board Certified Emergency Medical Director all of our physician staff has standardized procedures relating to all aspects of medical care in place as set forth by the American Academy of Emergency Physicians and the American Medical Association.
